Calgary, March 2021 — Paskapoo Pet Services encourages local pet parents to join us in celebrating the 27th annual Professional Pet Sitters Week, on March 7-13, 2021!
Professional Pet Sitters Week (PPSW) was introduced by Pet Sitters International (PSI)
in 1995. PSI is the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters, and represents nearly 5,000 member businesses around the world. Paskapoo Pet Services has been an active member of PSI since 2013!
PSI created PPSW to educate pet owners about the advantages of using professional pet
sitters. In 2021 and beyond, it’s essential that pet parents can rely on qualified, professional pet-care providers who are committed to providing experienced and safe services. This goes beyond hiring a "5-star pet sitter" via an on-demand mobile app.
PPSW is particularly important this year as it also celebrates the resiliency of pet sitters who suffered significant losses of work and revenue, due to Covid-19, non-essential travel restrictions and work-at-home orders.
As part of Professional Pet Sitters Week, Paskapoo Pet Services would like to send their regards to all the pet sitting and dog walking businesses who have put the safety of their clients, and themselves, above money, profit and convenience. They did so by implementing strong and strict safety measures, acquiring and using PPE, and offering services in a limited capacity when required. The last year has proven that professional pet sitters and dog walkers who run and own legitimate businesses can safely operate when proper safety measures are in place.
Professional Pet Sitters Week is also a time to reflect on the changes within the pet care industry, and what can be done to better our services and make our business model more sustainable in times of crisis like the Covid-19 pandemic.
Fortunately, Paskapoo Pet Services was able to resume services after a short interruption at the beginning of the pandemic, and survive throughout 2020 and the beginning of 2021, thanks to our generous and loyal clientele. We were told several times by our clients how they appreciated the care and efforts we invested into our Covid-19 response. "Peace of Mind" for our clients has always been our motto at Paskapoo Pet Services!
